MATATA — Poverty Slaps, But We Slap Back Harder After sold-out shows and an enthusiastic audience reception at Gamle Munch in February 2025 and at Oslo World 2025 at Nordic Black Theatre, we are proud to welcome MATATA back — once again on home ground at Nordic Black Theatre. The performance is part of our strong, long-term collaboration with Oslo World , which has helped highlight international music and performing arts in Oslo. Poverty Slaps, But We Slap Back Harder is a raw and honest celebration of survival, where hope refuses to die and humor becomes a weapon against despair. It tells the stories of people who build worlds out of nothing, and of the courage to dance even when the music stops.
