Sander Tingstad Kvartett- Tanum Kirke

Beskrivelse

Nordic folk musicality and a strong classical tradition - meet the Sander Tingstad Quartet! The quartet is led by award-winning violinist, folk musician and composer Sander Tingstad, and consists of four versatile string players with a solid background in both the classical tradition and the sound world of early music. The project brings the freedom and fearlessness of folk music into classical soundscapes. We embrace the rawness and vulnerability of folk music, improvise and play with traditions. Unadorned instrumental sound and full rhythmic freedom form the basis of the quartets sound world. Join us as we present our own folk music compositions and arrangements of traditional folk music, side by side with new interpretations of classical works by, among others, Edvard Grieg and Joseph Haydn. "The innovative thinking and artistic integrity are so high that it is incomprehensible that he is not an even more well-known name in Norwegian music life" "Opphav allows us to understand the folk music of Grieg better than musicology has been able to." - Magnus Andersson, Klassekampen about the album Opphav (Simax 2022) Listen here : https://orcd.co/opphav
