Cinema Neuf: Matteusevangeliet (1964) – 35mm

Beskrivelse

Jesus! The Gospel According to St.Matthew is a adaption of the biblical Gospel of Mathew by Italian director Pasolini. The dialogue is largely unchanged from the source as Pasolini felt that “images could never reach the poetic heights of the text” In typical italian neorealist fashion the actors are largely amateurs. However the neorealist style requires minimalism, therefore the film requires some knowledge of Jesus' life and times to fully understand. Pier Paolo Pasolini Italia 35mm 137 min.
