Buttechno is a Berlin-based music producer and one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary underground electronic music. Buttechno's sonic identity is built on spacious, dystopian, and wonky reflections on techno that explore the liminal spaces between rhythm and texture. His productions feature rhythmic cells ranging from strict to rubbery that lend direction to blue, ruminating, and post-apocalyptic voids—creating soundscapes that mirror expansive barrenness and urban desolation. This approach has earned him recognition for providing "spastic electronics and fireball ballistics" at major festivals including Dekmantel, Nextones, and Berlin Atonal, as well as legendary clubs such as Berghain and Tresor. Svebbe is the nickname of Viljar Sæbbe, who in a short time has established himself as both a DJ and music curator on the international club scene. As one of the most-followed club music profiles on Bandcamp, his recommendations are quickly picked up by a large number of DJs, including many of the biggest names in dance music. His guest mix for Rinse FM was selected as Mix of the Day by Resident Advisor, and in his DJ sets he moves effortlessly between timeless house and techno selections and global styles such as kuduro and afrobeats, while maintaining a clear emphasis on UK bass music.
